DESCRIPTION
The all popular Yellow Mustard in it's pure seed form. Gently fry to release the flavour and aroma within, or powder and use like with any dry spice. Works great when paired with rice and potato focussed dishes, and is popular worldwide. We especially like using it in vegetable cutlets, and potato salads.

Easy Homemade Dijon Mustard (without wine)

Zero waste, preservative-free, easy recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mustard seeds, yellow or black or both
  • ¾ cup of soaking liquid (¼ cup apple cider vinegar and ½ cup of water)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoon filtered water

Instructions

  1. Mix the mustard seeds with the soaking liquid in a glass container, cover and let soak at room temperature for 2 days.
  2. Transfer mustard seeds and soaking liquid to a blender. Add in salt and sugar, and blend until a paste forms, or to the desired consistency. It is fine to have a smooth Dijon mustard or to leave some mustard seeds whole.
  3. Store in an airtight glass jar in the fridge and let rest for at least 2 days before use.
