Q: How does bulk shopping work?
A: Practising in bulk shopping whenever possible can help to eliminate unnecessary packaging (plastic or otherwise) from our weekly groceries. At Live Zero, we sell everything by weight, not by unit. So ensure you weigh your containers before filling them up. This way, with some simple calculations, we can make sure you are only paying for what’s in your containers!

A: You are more than welcome to bring your own containers - anything you are comfortable with! Just make sure they are weighed before you start shopping.
Q: I don’t have my own containers, but I want to shop in bulk! What can I do?
A: No worries! You can purchase paper bags or sanitised glass jars. Alternatively, you can purchase brand new produce bags, food containers, Stasher bags, etc. and use them straight away!

A: The beauty of bulk purchase is that you can get any amount you desire, little or big. With the help of our weighing scales around the shop, customers are welcome to measure their containers, and products they are purchasing, this way, customers are able to measure as they go, avoiding any excess purchase.

A: At Live Zero, we believe in reuse and repurpose. Those glass jars sitting in your cabinet can be reused by customers who shop with us! All glass donations are welcome, as long as they are clean and dry upon delivery. A: Not all of our products are certified organic. However, we definitely try to source organic as much as possible. Otherwise, all of our products are all-natural.
Q: Can I return products?
A: In order to ensure the integrity of our products, we are unable to re-sell bulk items that have left its original container. For this reason, we do not refund or exchange items due to change of mind or incorrect purchase.
Majority of our non-bulk (lifestyle) products can be exchanged within 14 days from purchasing. Make sure packaging is still intact, product is not used (for hygiene reasons), and with the online receipt.
Q: Do I help myself to refill or will the staff help me?
A: Live Zero is a self-serve shop, we trust our customers to weigh and fill their own containers before coming to us to check out. Some specific machinery in the shop must be operated by staff, or requires a quick demo to operate, these will have a “please ask for assistance” notice. Nevertheless, we are happy to help if you have any questions or concerns.
Q: I still have some oil left in my container, should I wash it first?
A: For glass donations, we do not take oil bottles unless they are absolutely clean and dry, as it is sometimes very difficult to remove oil residue.
For refill purposes, it is up to personal preference if you want to refill into a container you are currently using, or has residue remaining. If you choose to refill containers which have something remaining from a previous shopping, please make sure you weigh them again!
For essential oil refills, try to stick with one bottle per oil. However, if you are okay with mixing essential oils, it is also unnecessary to rinse bottle before refills.
Q: What is the shelf life of your bulk products?
A: Most of our bulk products have the self life of 12 months. To ensure the quality of our products, suggest they are kept in air-tight containers, away from sunlight and moisture, and ideally in a cool environment.
Q: Is your shop pet-friendly?
A: As much as we adore fluffy friends, our shops are not pet-friendly, due to restrictions imposed by the Hong Kong Legislative Council [Food Business Regulation (Cap.132X)]. But make sure we know how cute your fluffy friends are!
