Cocoa butter, also known as cacao butter, is the fat extracted from the cocoa bean and is a key ingredient in making all types of chocolate.
Besides culinary usem, cocoa butter is also famous for its moisturising qualities. Apart from adding to the suppleness of your skin, cocoa butter is high in antioxidants. Due to its chocolatey aroma and soothing creaminess, it is a popular ingredient in soaps where it provides an extra dimension of luxury and smoothness.

Make homemade chocolate with cocoa butter, cocoa powder and a sweetener of your choice.
Ingredients
1 cup (220g) Organic Unrefined Cocoa Butter
1 cup (118g) Organic Raw Cacao Powder
1/4 cup (80g) Sweetener of your choice, e.g. maple syrup
Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Melt the cocoa butter slowly over a water bath.
- When the cocoa butter has fully melted, stir in the cocoa powder, sweetener, salt, and any additional flavours you want to add.
- Whisk everything together until there are no remaining lumps of cacao powder and the mixture is fully incorporated.
- Pour the chocolate into silicone moulds or lined muffin cups. Transfer to the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Once the chocolate has fully hardened, pop it out of the moulds and enjoy.
