Its main active compound, curcumin, gives it potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which are attributed to its wide range of traditional and modern uses in medicine, cooking, and supplements for conditions like arthritis, indigestion, and heart disease.

Usage: Use to add the signature bright yellow colour, and an earthy, gingery mouthfeel to curries. Commonly used for Indian, Malaysian and Thai food. Add a dash of ground black pepper to significantly improve curcumin absorption.
